Town and Country Shopping Center A Valentine To Remember   Contest

Who Can Enter

To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be California residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the KBAK/KBFX viewing area.

   2.  Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Media, Inc., and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast stations KBAK/KBFX (collectively, the “Stations”), The Town and Country Village Shopping Center, Shamrock Capital Growth Fund, , The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.  The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one winner per household.

    

   How to Enter

    

   (a)  No purchase is necessary to enter.  Only one entry per household.

    

         (b)  To enter, log onto www.BakersfieldNow.com to complete the online entry form with your name, address, phone, age, and upload a picture of YOUR Valentine Couple  and submit.  The picture must depict you and one other person.  No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.  Picture must be in a JPEG format and up to 4” x 6” in size.

    

         (c)   By entering, entrants represent and warrant (i)  that the picture includes himself/herself  and  they own the picture submitted, (ii) the picture does not violate the rights of any third parties,  (iii) the picture has not been altered or enhanced with any software (excluding redeye), and (iv) that they agree to the terms and conditions located at http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/insideeyewitness/terms.   No lewd, nude, crude, or offensive pictures (as determined by the Station in its sole and absolute discretion) will be accepted.  The Station reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any entry.

    

         (d)  The contest starts on January 29, 2014 and all entries must be received by Station by 12:00 a.m. PST on  February 12, 2014 (the “Contest Period”).  Stations are not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction

    

          (e) Each entry will be judged and scored by a panel of 4 judges comprised of Station personnel based on the following criterion: 20% content, 40% appearance, and 40 % creativity.  On February 14, 2014, the judges will determine one (1) winner based on the score for the criterion set forth above.   The decisions of the judges shall be final.

        

         (f)  All entries received that are duplicate, mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void.  All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Stations and will not be acknowledged or returned.

    

   The Prize(s)

1. One (1) winner will receive  Gift Card  from Knight’s Jewelers, value $100; A Gift Card from Oreck Floor Care Center, value $45;  A Gift Card from Garden District Flowers, value $64.95; A Gift Card from Concept Elite Salon, value $60; a Gift Card from Soul Purpose, value $25; A Gift Card from Miyoshi Japanese Restaurant (non-alcoholic beverage included, gratuity not included), value $50;   A Gift Card from Village Pet Market, value $25;  A Gift Card from Albertsons, value $25; A Gift Card from Starbucks, value $25; A Gift Card from Cones, value $20; A Gift Card from Los Hermanos( non-alcoholic beverage included, gratuity not included), value $25.00;  and A Gift Card from Bobbi’s Hallmark, value $50  The total prize value is $514.95.   

2.  Winner will be notified by phone. Before claiming prizes, winners must provide their correct name, address and telephone number to Stations at the time of notification.  Winner must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 48 hours of notification at the time winner claim his/her prize in person at the Station.  Winner must show picture identification to claim prizes.  Stations reserve the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.

3.  If the winner cannot be notified within two (2) days or does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner with the next highest score will be determined by the judges.    

4.  There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Stations.  The Stations have the right to substitute a prize of similar value.  No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed. 

5.  Each winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.   Winner must sign a W-9 form.    

6.  Only one prize will be awarded per household. 

7.  Sinclair Television Media, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.   

8.  Sinclair Television Media, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize. 

9.  In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Television Media, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration. 

Miscellaneous 

1.  Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at KBAK-TV/KBFX-CD, 1901 Westwind Drive, Bakersfield, CA  93301 and on the Stations’ website at www.BakersfieldNow.com. 

2.  For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to KBAK-TV/KBFX-CD, 1901 Westwind Drive, Bakersfield, CA  93301 by February 28, 2014.

3.  This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.  Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Media, Inc., LLC, Town and Country Village Shopping Center, Shamrock Capital Growth Fund, and The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder. 

5.  Stations cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.  

 6.  Stations reserve the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.

 7.   By entering this contest, each entrant waives any and all claims of liability against the Station, any sponsors, and their respective parent, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents, for any and all claims, loss, damage or injury which may occur as a result of entrant’s participation in this contest.
