Have you been bragging that you're a master chef?  Then you've got to enter the Nutty Food Recipe Contest.

Submit your original Entree or Dessert recipe featuring Almonds, Pistachios or Walnuts as a key ingredient, along with the recipe name and a picture by Midnight, Tuesday, May 28th, 2013.

Judges will review submissions and select 8 finalists from each category to create and present their recipe at the 2013 Nut Festival at the Kern County Museum on Saturday, June 15th for tasting by the judges.

Are there prizes?  Yes each finalists will receive four tickets to the 2013 Kern County Nut Festival.  One grand prize winner from the Entree and the Dessert category will receive a KitchenAid Pro 600 Series Stand Mixer.  Retail value is $569.

 5/31          Finalists announced and posted on site.

 6/7            Finalists available to be featured during morning news broadcast at Urner’s, 7am-9am.

 6/15          Recipe presentation and tasting at the 2013 Kern County Nut Festival.  The event will be held at the Kern County Museum. Two Grand prize winners announced.
